For your group learning activity to be eligible for CPD accreditation, it must be

  • developed directly by a physician organization, or

  • co-developed in partnership with a physician organization or accredited CPD provider and

  • reviewed and approved by a Royal College-accredited CPD provider.

There are two main paths for obtaining CPD accreditation for a group learning activity:

  • as a physician organization or

  • as a non-physician organization.

We encourage program developers who meet the definition of a physician organization to contact a Royal College-accredited CPD provider to obtain the proper forms/application, policies and procedures, timelines or applicable fees to have their program or activity reviewed and accredited for MOC credit.

Tip: Choose an accredited CPD provider based on the target audience of your activity.

Note: If a physician organization is co-developing an activity with a non-physician organization, the physician organization must fill out and submit the application form to the accredited CPD provider within the timeframe provided.

Accreditation statement

Approved group learning activities must include a statement on all activity materials (including the program and the certificate of participation) that acknowledges that the activity has been approved for Section 1 MOC credits and the name of the accredited CPD provider.

The accredited CPD provider will provide you with the proper statement to add to all materials once your activity is approved.

If your organization co-developed an accredited CPD activity, it is important to use a CPD accreditation statement that acknowledges your co-development relationship. The accredited CPD provider will provide you with the proper statement to add to all materials once your activity is approved.
