The Royal College’s 2025 Annual Meeting of the Members (AMM) was held virtually on Feb. 26, 2025. The AMM is a key opportunity to engage with the leadership of the Royal College and discuss the interests and priorities of current and future members.
This year’s meeting was very engaging with many thoughtful questions from members throughout the presentations. Key agenda items for the 2025 AMM included the delivery of the President’s report by Royal College President Brian Hodges, MD, FRCPC, PhD, the 2025 Council elections, as well as financial reporting and a vote on an increase in membership dues to keep up with increases in operational costs.
The conclusion of the 2025 AMM marked the beginning of a two-year term for Marcia Clark, MD, FRCSC, as Royal College President.
In addition, 19 Council members were elected to fill region- and division-specific positions for the 2025-2029 term:

Members voted in favour of a two per cent increase to the annual membership fee. The fee will be $1,080 for April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Here’s an explanation of where your money is being invested, based on the current fee of $1,060.
Members also approved the appointment of Deloitte, LLP as the public accountant of the Royal College for the financial year ending March 31, 2026.
In addition, members approved the continued application of the 2024 five-year exemption granted to the Royal College by Corporations Canada, which permits the Royal College to hold its AMM in February of each year. Next year’s AMM will be held virtually on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
